Mathilde
I am French but I have been living in Berlin for 5 years. After trying different places around the world, its forest and lakes convinced me to settle here.

Most of my career has been devoted to digital marketing but the truth is that it is art that made my all life shine. Painting, sculpting, collaging and writing gave me so much room to dream and papermaché has the advantage to combine them all!
​
I am also the 35 years-old mother of two creative girls who are never so fulfilled as when "diy"ing together as a family or jumping into Berlin's lakes clear water.
Why Papermaché
One day my parents came home from a walk in town with three amazing sculptures in their hands. I was about eleven and I still remember that moment clearly. They were two cows skiing and a girafe looking up the sky. All of them made of papermaché.
This is where the love began.

Since then, I have been trying here and there to build a few characters, to create an animal face but this all came to live as my grandmother turned 90.
I wanted to make something special for her and amid of my family's doubts, I started creating little papermaché figures which represented my grandma's family in the sixties. This is where I got to understand that papermaché also creates emotions.

And it is this emotion that I am trying to revive everytime I create a new sculpture and I hope you will feel it as well.
